Bridging Technology and Fashion:Egyptian Entrepreneur Omar Al-Mounir Innovates AI-Powered Smart Clothing

Dream of Mars Colonization

Al-Mounir aspires to manufacture clothing for humans who will colonize Mars. He views his focus on artificial intelligence as a means to achieve this dream, actively attending global conferences and visiting research centers in different countries. This endeavor has significantly advanced his research on space clothing through Sigma-Fit.

Leveraging AI Potential

Al-Mounir has drawn insights from a research paper by the Chinese AI company Deepseek, along with the Gemini flash thinking 2.0 model. This exposure has led him to experience what is known as a “Eureka moment,” a sudden realization of a previously unclear problem or concept. He discovered that he could tap into the latent ideas of artificial intelligence, which helped him complete the workflow he has been developing for the past two years.

Innovative Workflow

He explains that he developed a workflow comprising 82 steps, utilizing 16 AI models and tools in a specific sequence to analyze heat emission points and create diverse fabrics. The goal is to produce a T-shirt that effectively cools different areas of the body.

Opportunities in Egyptian Market

Al-Mounir emphasizes that just as China has achieved significant progress with limited resources through the Deepseek experience, he believes there is an opportunity for Egypt to lead in the use of this technology and advance the smart clothing sector more rapidly than others. He notes that companies like Deepseek, Meta, Google, and OpenAI will be releasing new AI models in the coming months, which will further enhance his workflow.

Collaboration with Universities

Al-Mounir is reaching out to textile engineering departments at various Egyptian universities to build a team of researchers equipped with previously unavailable tools. He hopes that with this development, they can achieve patents and facilitate training for researchers, supporting Sigma-Fit’s research and experimentation efforts.
